The Government assigns 612 million for the 1.5% rise to civil servants
The Executive has approved the allocation of 612.2 million euros to seven autonomous communities and 9.42 million to 32 local entities with the aim of collaborating with these Administrations in the payment of the additional 1.5% increase in the remuneration of their public employees. It has executed the action through the Delegate Commission of the Government for Economic Affairs (Cdgae).
The additional rise of 1.5% is an agreement reached with the main unions that adds to the already agreed 2% for this year, and which has retroactive. As it is an exceptional increase, motivated by inflation, due to the crisis generated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was not foreseen in the different budget items of all the Administrations. For this reason, it has been decided to use the existing financing mechanisms, intended both for Autonomous communities as well as Local Entities.
These agreements are adopted in compliance with the Royal Decree-Law 18/2022, of October 18, which contemplates that, exceptionally, in 2022, the State may allocate resources from the additional financing mechanisms, for an amount equivalent to that necessary to make the aforementioned salary increase effective. In the case of the Autonomous Communities, the Cdgae has agreed to assign resources from the Financing Fund to CCAA 2022 to Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, Murcia and the Valencian Community.
On the other hand, in the case of local entities, the payment will have to be made by these entities with prior to March 31, 2023 and, those entities that do not have sufficient resources to finance the necessary credit modifications may formalize a loan in the necessary amount with the Financing Fund for Local Entities.
