The Federal Reserve (Fed) paused for the first time in more than a year and kept its key interest rate in a range of 5% to 5.25%. The central bank announced its decision after the meeting on Wednesday, to take some time and assess the impact that 10 consecutive increases in its benchmark rate have had on inflation and the economy.
