The African Democratic Council (ADC) state chairmen have described the suspension of the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Dumebi Kachikwu as arbitrary.

The party’s National Working Committee suspended Kachikwu on Friday for alleged anti-party activities.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the National Vice Chairman (Politics) of the party, Mr. Bamidele Ajadi, announced his suspension.

Ajadi said Kachikwu made the “outrageous” claims against the ADC’s policies. He was also accused of other crimes against groups.

Mr. Ajadi described Kachikwu’s behavior as “irresponsible, malicious and malicious” and said that he has the ability to use blackmail to force party leaders to do what he wants.

He emphasized that whoever wants to lead Nigeria should not think like this.

Mr. Ajadi said, “The NWC observed with deep concern the false and slanderous film released by Mr. Kachikwu, designed to demean and tarnish the integrity of ADC and its national officers.

However, the state party chairmen said at a press conference on Saturday in Abuja, the candidate cannot be disqualified by the National Working Committee (NWC) whose term has expired.

They said the NWC expired in August.

Kingsley Ogga, the head of the ADC Council of State Councillors, spoke during a press conference and said that the NWC had previously called a “false and kangaroo” National Executive Committee meeting ( NEC) on 26 August.

He said the NEC teleconference did not comply with the legal requirement of seven days before the meeting.

“Ignorant people and criminals packed that meeting to capacity. State chairmen left the meeting while many non-NEC members stayed.

“The National Chairman, the National Secretary, and other members of the NWC are well aware of the purpose of the illegal meeting.

“The National Chairman, the National Secretary and other members of the NWC are well aware of the objective of the illegal meeting.

“The above opinion was clear from the allegation in the conference call that the NWC was delayed.

It is important to continue to state that the events of August 26 in the ADC secretariat were fraudulent, illegal, illegal and unnecessary,” said Ogga.

In his speech, Mr. Kenneth Odiom, Secretary of the German Congress, said that Kachikwu was chosen correctly in the party’s first election and there was no problem about it.

“No one has any reason to stop a presidential candidate from voting for a few more months.

“They say we are fighting, but the ADC is not in trouble.

“It’s normal for people to step down from office at the end of their term.

“We are preaching that we want to restore Nigeria, but since we cannot manage our projects, we cannot ask Nigerians to trust us when it comes. to vote.

To become a political party ready to transform Nigeria, he added, “We must organize our house through the democratic process.”

The group’s issues will be resolved by a new defense committee that will be established in each geopolitical zone, Odiom said. (NAN)
