Spain requests the third tranche of the Recovery Plan for 6,000 million

The Spanish Government formally requests the third disbursement of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism for a value of 6,000 million euros. This section was linked to the fulfillment of 23 milestones and 6 objectives that, according to the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, have been met throughout the first half of 2022.

Among them, the Government highlights the entry into force of the reform of the Bankruptcy Law, which establishes a second chance procedure or the reform of the Social Security contribution system for self-employed workers to gradually introduce a new contribution formula based on actual income.

In the educational field, one of the milestones is the entry into force of the Law on the Comprehensive Vocational Training System, as well as the implementation of the Law on Measures to Prevent and Fight Tax Fraud. This rule adapts the tools to combat new types of fraud associated with new technologies and reinforces the mechanisms to combat tax avoidance by large multinationals through abusive tax planning and prohibits tax amnesties

With this request, sent this Friday, Spain “becomes the first Member State of the European Union to request the third aid package and shows that it is the most advanced country in the execution of the PRTR Plan”, says the department captained by María Jesús Montero. From now on, the European Commission will have a period of two months to carry out the analysis and verification of the documentation presented by the Government of Spain to make the disbursement, in accordance with article 24 of the Regulation of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
