Former President Goodluck Jonathan urged Nigerian youths on Saturday to shun politicians playing ethnic and religious cards in the 2023 general election.
Jonathan made the statement when he addressed a gathering in Owerri, Imo State, to celebrate the 80th birthday of the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
He called on Nigerians to reject public sentiment and faith when they vote for the country’s new leaders next year.
The former president expressed his dismay that the people and faith have taken a strong hold in Nigeria’s politics, to the detriment of the country.
