On August 30, 2022, Chris was found guilty of murdering his wife in 1982, after a stand-alone trial in the Supreme Court.

Chris Dawson was born in Sydney, New South Wales. Dawson is the second of the twins and his twin Paul has an older brother named Peter Dawson. He attended Sydney Boys High School and was a very bright student. Dawson graduated in 1966.

Chris Dawson met Lynette Simms at a high school party in 1965, aged sixteen, and they married in 1970 at St Jude’s Church, Randwick. After their marriage, they have two daughters, Sherryn and Shanelle Dawson.
