A former Member of Parliament has revealed how popular Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi is across the country.

Patrick Obahiagbon a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Patrick Obahiagbon said the reason is because Nigerians are not happy with the whole political party.

He said Nigerians and Nigerian youths are uniting the former Governor of Anambra State to save the country.

Obahiagbon revealed this during an appearance on a program on Live TV, The Video Show, on Friday.

However, the former lawmaker commended Obi’s courage and commitment in wanting to clean up the Nigerian system.

He said: “I sincerely hope that the loyal political class of Nigeria is learning the necessary lessons that have welcomed the emergence of Peter Obi.

“It’s good that his supporters call it the Obident movement but what I would like to describe is the political sirocco of the emerging Obi.

“Nigerians and Nigerian youths are deeply disappointed and disheartened by the failures and failures of the entire political party in Nigeria whether it is APC, PDP NNPP etc.

“This is what Nigerians and young Nigerians are saying. They said it was that first speech that sparked the protest that ended the SARS controversy.

“Peter Obi’s project is about awakening and coming out of that darkness.

“Can Peter Obi get on top and send Nigeria’s darkness into the bowels of the Aso Rock Villa? I say no. I don’t see that.”

The APC leader said the LP will not secure 25 percent of the votes in the 24 states in the 2023 elections, adding that the 2023 presidential election will be between the two parties.

Obahiagbon said the election would be highly contested by PDP and APC presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu.

He said: “Only two major political parties are coming to this election. The two major political parties are the APC and the PDP.

“But despite that accusation, I dare to say that although this election will be contested by two major political parties, the election will have three major presidential candidates.

“I don’t see how the Labor Party can get 25 per cent in 24 states this election.”
